Default Exhaust Scraping Problem

so when im taking hard left turns i hear this rattling noise and ive always wondered what it was. looks like i found it slowly eating away at my racepipe. this only happens on really hard left turns. im not sure if i heard this at the track but i dont think i did... only on the touge where i usually go test setups. what do you guys think? have any of you had this problem before?

I would check the hangers to see if there is too much play and the hanger bushings. I would go to a reputable exhaust shop to see if they can add more clearance from the driveshaft. Good luck

What kind of exhaust is this? typically this happens on single exit exhaust that dont use an add on hanger off the differential mounts.

Since the exhaust hangers are no longer triangulated when you go to a single exit, the exhaust can sway from left to right in cornering. I learned this putting a hole in my J's Racing 70RS...

oh man sorry to hear that but this is a t1r 70em single exhaustt but i took off the axleback section and made a straight pipe still utilizing all factory hangers one can for a single. on my t1r exhaust i also have minor marks like this on the flange and pipe. what did you do to get rid of this?

Ok, your exhaust should have come like this then with these parts. you need to use the extra hanger assembly supplied and weld a hanger wire of your race pipe

correct, so with the racepipe, im utilizing all hangers. also with the t1r axleback im utilizing all hangers. what ive done so far is put a hose clamp around the diff rubber hanger to keep it from stretching. i havent heard of this problem other than t1r exhausts according to some ppl ive talked to...

Do you have the hanger from the diff mount installed?

Edit:
Oops - nm. What greg said.

Did you account for the bend in the mid pipe when you made the delete section? Could just be an alignment issue.

yeap the bend was also there. im sure the t1r has more clearance but even with that said, it still hits. would diff mounts help prevent some flex going on in the rear?

Well, I had the same exhaust (with the provided mid pipe), never had any clearance issues. Not sure if I read it wrong, but if the issue is only with your race mid-pipe, it has to be an alignment issue.

How was the race mid-pipe made? Did you have a jig built off of the T1R mid pipe? Even a small difference, say the flange meeting the cat, can translate into a big difference over the length of the mid-pipe.

Also, FWIW, I never had to compress the rubber hanger connecting to the diff mount.
