i was wondering if you guys htink this is a good price for a system:

Headunit - Alpine CDA-9835
Speakers - Eclipse SC8264
Amp - PA5422


he said $1800 for parts and install. think this is fair? or should i just do it myself.
just want to make sure i'm not getting jacked.

whats the break up on the bill? How much for parts and how much for labor? Whats involved with the installation? is it just oem replacement? kinda of hard to say without knowing the details.

i'm assuming the speakers are actually the Eclipse 8264

if that's just parts, you're being taken. and in fact, unless you've got some pretty heavy custom stuff going on, i think you're paying out too much no matter how you lay it out.

at best, MSRP on that gear shouldn't be more than about $1300. and even that's way high. installed, that whole setup shouldn't cost you more than $1,400 imo. and even that is allowing him dealer pricing on the gear and install...

plus, what are you doing w/ the extra 2 channels on that amp? it's a 4x85 Wrms @ 4 ohms...

A box for the amp? What do you mean? Why not just mount the amp in the tool well or spare tire area?

thats a good point on the amp which amp do you guys sugest? i was looking at constant power output of 120watts for the speakers.
