Default Dave (NFRs2000NYC) installs my system (2)

Continued from part 1: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=283078

Next, Dave runs the RCAs under the driver's side of the center console, to avoid possible speaker whine - it seems to have worked:

Then it's time to install the crossovers - Dave buried them in the doors, as I don't need to look at them:

The tweeters were next. Don't forget to use spade connectors so you can still take your door panels off:

Next, the rest of the speaker system. We reused the oem baskets, after cutting the backs off neatly (not) with a pait of tin snips, as the dremel was MIA:

We're finally in the trunk. Dave wired up the amp and sub:

Next, Dave wired up the sub and sub box. I'll let him tell you about that, if he wants to. I'll say nothing about what happened out behind the garage, and besides, it's all unprintable anyway. Nothing a few minutes with a dremel and a visit to the ER won't fix

After everything was hooked up, Dave powered it up. Hmm, nothing from the passenger side, driver's side and sub are fine...wtf? We spend a few minutes poking around, and realize that the speaker wire for the passenger side is still dangling loose in the trunk. Oops. Once it's hooked up, everything works, first time.

By now, Dave's been working on this car for 12 hours straight, and hasn't ingested anything but some water, a Diet Coke, and quite a few cigarettes. I think maybe he's a cyborg

I've been enjoying the system for the past couple of days, and even the baby seems to like it. Although, maybe she was just stunned by the volume - it's hard to tell.

I'd like to thank him publicly for a great job, and it's nice that we have access to people like this because we all happen to like the same car.

Thanks, Dave!

Great write up.

Next time, when you reach the post limit for one post. Just reply to your own thread and use a second post there. No need to start two separate threads.

Looks good, but where are the completed shots?

Mmm, good idea, I didn't think of that.

I'll take some shots when I finish tie-wrapping everything this weekend. It still looks messy back there, as I didn't have time to get to it so far.

You'll have to ask Dave

I couldn't tell, it wouldn't be fair...

Ok, ok.......I went to the back of the garage to relieve myself of the bottle of water and a diet coke, and tripped over a transmission that was wrapped in a black garbage bag (it was pitch black outside.) So I took a tumble, rendered my right arm nearly useless, sliced my eye, my nose, my arms, and knee. I finished the job tho.

Anyway, I was expecting to be done in a few hours, but the car was fighting me on everything. Clips, panels, wires didnt want to move, and on top of that, I didnt have certain things like a battery terminal and a ground terminal. I can do it a lot faster, just that it wasnt my day I guess. I also took the time to do everything carefully, so that took time as well. Overall, the sound was great. Now if someone could just tell dave how to increase the bass on that headunit, it would be perfect.
