Default Dave (NFRs2000NYC) installs my system (1).

Finally, thanks to Dave (NFRs2000NYC), I have a system I can hear at 80mph with the top down

I started off for NY at 7am, subjected my baby to some Manhattan potholes as I went from the Lincoln Tunnel to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, and arrived at the designated meeting spot with no problems.

Dave arrived a few minutes later, and we drove over to his garage. In typical NY fashion, no parking spot goes unused, so before we could get up the driveway, Dave had to move some cars out of the way.

I forget what the first car was, but the second was a lowered M3 with a cf lip, followed by a Sable with 107,000 miles and a leaky water pump.

As I drove into the garage, I noticed a nice black Porsche 944 Turbo parked to one side. The only thing missing was the engine, as the previous owner had managed to do this to the crankshaft:

So now we're ready to get started. I unload all the boxes out of the car while Dave re-parks the fleet in the driveway.

Here's the list:

Alpine CDA-9831
Alphasonik PMA4150A
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 system
Alphasonik PSW810 10" sub
KnuKonceptz wiring
Amp rack & cover (from Jim/PAS2Knut)
Modifry DCI
Sub box (from John/darkknight1999)

Ok, first thing is to strip the car, starting with rocker panels:

Next, the seats and the panels behind them come out:

Dave likes to get one of the hard parts over first, so he heads to the engine compartment, where he strips the electrical tape from the wiring going into the firewall. This is where the power wire will go:

After some lubrication, cursing, and shoving, the power wire reaches the interior:

Next, the door panels come off. This is easy - just pull out the two plastic covers on the door grab handle, remove the two screws, remove the screw located by the door handle (see where the drill is), and then yank on the panel to loosen the clips.

The radio door panel comes out next. In an '04 or higher, you need to loosen the center console first or you'll bend the panel clips getting it out. To do that, just pull up on the console 'til it comes loose, then with the e-brake on, lift the console over the e-brake and pull it back enough to give yourself room to pull on the door.
Pull the radio door gently until the bottom clips pull out, then pull the top out.

Dave then ran the power wire up the passenger side of the car and into the trunk:

Not wanting to face the door speaker wires yet, Dave wires up the Modifry DCI:

Ok, guess we gotta do the speaker wires... This is one of the worst parts of the install. There are two gaskets hidden deep behind the kick panels, and you have to somehow get the speaker wires thru them. We ended up poking holes in the gaskets, feeding a wire hanger lubed with baby oil thru them, then taping the speaker wire to the wire an pulling it thru the gasket from inside the car out ot the doors. Yeah, it's a pain

Ok, we're ready to start putting stuff in. First, the headunit:

Looks good so far, I like the parts list you decided to go with.
