Do you like a lot of tweeter action? if so, a-pillar or up in the door will do. if you want it to be more coherent as close to the midrange driver as possible.

crossover, whereever you feel is best. if you put under your seat, you might have to take your seat out everytime you want to make adjustments. easiest way to me is, in the kick panel.

Ditto on the tweeter placement... Closer to the mids adds clarity.. A-pillars raises the sound stage.

As I recall, the Quart crossovers are pretty big. Have you given any thought to mounting them next to your amp? You'd need an extra pair of wires into the doors, but access would be easier...

Your call..... really, once the settings are made, you won't need to access them that often.

mine are mounted right next to the amp. once they were dialed in i never messed with them. if i were to do it over again, they might be in my kick panels.

i don't think the a pillars are the right place for tweeters in an S. other cars with a big dash, hummer, minivan, it can work with great results. you are just too close in the S imo; they should be mounted over the door handle.

you know, after some thought and measuring, the a pillars might not be that bad of an option. although not ideal (few to nothing is ideal in the s for stereos) if tuned/timed properly it could work and sound decent.

it would bring the soundstage up a bit, however, other than that, it's not that much different thant the placement above the door handle.

Yeah Quart x-overs are big, so I highly doubt you'll be sticking them in the kick panels. You can put them under the dash though. There's plenty of room on each side. You can also put them in the trunk.

I have mine setup like this, but for most people doing this is out of the question:

thanks all , this is giving me the info i'm needing. wouldn't having them next to the door handle be risky ,( i know i see the pic.) as soft as that is . wouldn't it rip the door lineing? when doing the hole for them? Who ever done that , did a very good job. Good idea on putting the crossover's in the trunk willie, is that a Phoenix Gold TI i see and sub? i got my Phoenix Gold 100x4 for my project. the front channels for my quart's and the back maybe s-pod's or a sub set up. haven't made my mind up yet.

Thanks, I did that tweeter install myself. The soft area where that tweeter is installed isn't what you think. It's a thin layer of the black leather on top of a 1/4 inch of foam on top of the the plastic shell of the door panel, which is what really supports the tweeters. They are no more in danger of ripping the lining than the door handle is, but you do have to cut a hole if thats what you mean. I like the tweeters there because they aren't too far from the woofers and my leg (or a passengers) can't block them. Before I installed them I wired them up with some extra wire and held them in various locations to what sounded best to me. Good luck on your install.
