SC belt is definitely slipping
here's the link to the back ground of my problem.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=299794&hl=
so i dropped my car off a the tuner for a few days, and we narrowed down to the belt is slipping after we tighten and retighten it.
i'm using the 9 psi SC pulley from SOS, along with the belt they sold me. so should i call them up and ask SOS if they'll get me another belt? or should i go for a different brand of SC belt?
i've thought about getting an ASP pulley like hydeaway suggested, but i want to try out a better belt first before taking the supercharger apart again.
also, someone told me that there's a glue texture type of spray i can spray on the belt and pulley, and that'll take care of the belt slip problem. is that true? if so, where can i get it and what does it called?

Goodyear Gatorback belts seem to grip a little better than others. Correct sizes are available at any good parts store for about $20.
I'm running 9 pounds and have had zero problems with my Gatorback. Picked it up at Autozone for like $25 or so.
great. thanks for the advice guys, i'll give that a try and hopefully it'll solve my problem.
btw, what size belt should i get? and also i'm not too sure if it's a 9 or 9.5 psi pulley. does it make a difference in belt size?
also, i'm not too savy with the chemicals, what solvent should i use to clean the pulley? would windex work?

Does the car make a specific sound when it's slipping? I don't have a boost gauge yet....so what's one way of telling if it's slipping under boost?
we found out by watching the AEM program while the car is running on the dyno. we can see the boost drops after it reaches and exceeds 7000 rpm.
i also installed a boost gauge to monitor the boost, and confirmed the boost was indeed dropping at high engine speed.

I read in your other thread that you have a Comptech.
Goodyear Gatorback 4060500 (50-inch) is the part number for a Vortech, which uses longer belts.
My Comptech uses 4060390 (39-inch) with the current pulley, which measures a little under 4 inches where the belt rides. It came with the car, so I don't know what boost the pulley was rated for. I'm seeing 8.2psi post-aftercooler.
I recommend using the longest belt that will work, probably the 4060390. The tensioner design is such that using longer belts gives more wrap around the blower pulley.
Rubbing alcohol or paint thinner would be great for cleaning the pulleys. Just let it dry for a few minutes before installing the new belt. Stay away from belt dressing sprays.

i'm assuming the 4060390 is for the 9 psi pulley on the comptech, and it's the same for both MY00 - 03 and MY 04-05, correct?
btw, how difficult is it to change out the belt? is there a trick or easy way to do it? or do i have to take the entire blower out? i looked into it today, and it doesn't look like i'm working with alot of room in there, especially with the STB in the way.
