I went to a Honda dealer today and test drove a car. The salesman asked me some questions about my S, and told me, "That's a collector's item. You know they aren't going to be making them anymore." It was all I could do to keep from laughing in his face. Apparently he doesn't read "S2000 Talk"....

I told him, "Yeah, well I've heard that before." He quickly backed away from his statement, saying only that, "Well, Honda is always so secretive about what they plan to do...."

I heard that same thing,in 1999.

 

you should have told him about the new color and then bet him $20 you were right. you could have proven it right there too, cuz they could have logged into HIN and seen the 06 colors and models.

 

To be fair, he might have said "They won't be making them after '06." I don't recall exactly. I was just amused because of all the times the same rumor has come up here.

 

It's wild that this "stopping production" rumour is still out there! Originally, it was going to be a two-year run: 2000 and 2001 only. I had thought the later production of the '03 to '05 models had stopped that talk.
