Just like any other AP2. The DBW is transparent. VSA will not kick in until you get nuts with the car, such as a burn out or drifting. It lets you play safely with the car. AND, you can fully turn it off for all out fun. Not much else to say.

This is the problem with all of these posts from people who just bought an '06 and its thier FIRST S2000 or opinions coming from people who DON'T OWN one.

The only posts about DBW and VSA on the '06 I EVER CARE TO READ are from those people who HAVE OWNED pre-06 models.

IF YOU HAVEN'T OWNED AN S2K BEFORE YOUR '06, DON'T POST IN HERE! WE NEED REAL ANALYTICAL OPINIONS FROM OWNERS OF BOTH PRE-'MY06 and MY06 CARS!

Rant over.....

I've driven both pre '06 and currently own a '06, and it's just like tifosi360 said:

MulderATO! Lots hostility there...I have driven all three versions of the S2000. Street/ track/ drag-strip...Yes, I have only S2000 ever owned is an 06. Nonetheless, I have enough mileage with all the pre-06 AP1/ AP2's to make the above statements. In fact, two weeks ago I was driving a 2001/2004 and a 2006 back to back. They all behave the way an S2000 expected to behave. We all know the feeling.

It is sad to see that there is so much drift between people who own AP1's and AP2's on all the S2000 sites. I also own a MINI Cooper S. The sense of community and helpfulness is unparalled on sites, such as www.northamericanmotoring.com. MINI's have gone through several changes too, namely from going to 04 to 05, and nobody disses each other.

LOL.....

Didnt mean to be hostile but this is what I want to read... someone that has owner a pre 06 for years, just traded it in.. dont care if it was an ap1 or ap2... to get an 06. THier impresions. and so far..... there are none... only people who test drove pre 06 then bought an 06. That is almost worthless... I guesss I am just gonna have to go drive one myself to get an answer.

Well, a friend of mine has a '04 and I used to drive it all the time, that is why I agreed with tifosi360. If I felt any difference with the DBW, I would have mentioned something about it. The VSA is a nice safety net to have and some people may even find it annoying, but at least you have the option to turn it off. My last car was an Acura TSX and the DBW on it was horrible. Everytime you stepped on the pedal you'd have to wait just a bit before you felt the car move. In the '06 S2000, there is no lag at all. The throttle is very responsive. Find someone who has an '06 in your area and take it for a spin, am sure you won't notice any difference.

Here's a better question .. why do you care? Are you going to buy a 2006 if the DBW/VSA works the way you want/expect it to? If you aren't seriously considering buying an '06, why does it matter?

Rather than getting pissed off, you could drive one yourself. If you don't trust the opinions of people on this site, why did you ask? BTW your rant belies any interest you have in "analytical opinions."
