Default NE/Jock day 2

Pics from today.

The meeting point at Stanhope.

And we're off...

Stopped for a spot of lunch.

I couldn't decide which one of these three shots I liked best, so here they all are!

Some scenery. I think we were at Rothbury.

Off again.

Bamburgh Castle; perhaps I should have gotten out of the car to take this picture - it looks a bit blurry in places due to the wildlife on the windscreen.

And there ends day one.

I shan't be there tomorrow so have fun guys.

PS. Neil, cheers for getting the food for the BBQ, Allan and Penny, cheers for cooking it.

See you all again on the next one.

I'll repost my tale of woe from the Jock thread

I got up at 7:30am and jumped in the shower
Stomach started to make some strange noises and next thing I'm on the can howling at the moon.

I have some weetabix for breakfast, and end up straight back on the can, my arse is like a Japanese Flag by this point.

Iphone Beardie to let him know I'm an unlikely and then spend most of the morning in various states of defecation.

I phoned Beardie, to let him know I was on my way to Bonchester bridge but no reply (must have been busy nearly crashing into someone)

I realised though I probably wouldn't make it till well after 1pm by which time I thought you would have moved on

I knew the route would take you over talla reservoir so I thought I would meet you at the beginning of that run and join you for the rest of the day

....however...

I got a bit turned around in my head and actually did the route backwards coming out at tweedsmuir

my mobile phone couldn't get a signal and my stomach was starting to tell me I ought to think about finding a loo soon

so I decided to cut my losses and head home (rather than cut back across the talla and megget road and risk running headlong into Beardie)

As I'm going home I cut up over the broughton road and something catches my eye in my rear view mirror!, it's one of the bungs for my invidea bouncing into the distance.

I stop the car and retrieve the undamaged bung, but can't find the nut and bolt anywhere.

Cursing because I'm commuting in this thing at the moment, I unscrew the otherbung (burning my fingers in the process) and put them in the boot

When I get home, I take the tonneau cover off to find one of the poppers is broken, and then go to the loo and pebbledash the porceline

Now my arse is like the backend of the Batmobile.

All in all a good day out!
