Also...not indicated here...but here are some other '06 changes...
No red interior available for Sebring Silver...ONLY Silverstone.
Grand Prick White now with Black Interior (WooHoo!!!)
Suzuka remains with Blue...
Berlina Black remains with Black...
I am surprised Honda did not make XM standard on the S2000 for '06.

A few details:
The "standard headrest speakers" are actually in the roll hoops. The "revised seat and console designs" means that the headrest no longer has the "helmet hole" and the center console no longer has the potentially blinding silver of the 04/05.

Also, the look of the steering wheel has changed a bit.

I noticed this the other day and I would like to see you guys' opinion on it. Check out the center of the air vents above the stereo. This is something I havent seen mentioned anywhere. What is that?
What are these??

Also, the button in the center of the console. I looked at pics from the European version of the '04-'05s, and notice that this button was there already. I have seen pics showing that the button behind the steering wheel, which was the defroster is now the VSC button. Would this mean the the defroster is in the center? and if so... what the heck was the button in the center of the EU '04-'05s for?
The seats IMO look uninspiring compaired to the previous versions... they were much more sporty before. I have also seen pics where the actual leather looks of a diffrent type.. kinda like you could see the grain in it.

Here are some close ups of points of interest from the EU version of the '06:

My concern is with the '06 is the DBW and VSC. Well that and the extra weight. I will have to wait for it to be testing before drawing final conclusion on it as far as performance goes. I do know this... I don't like the idea of eigther, wether they perform well or not. I still don't like the idea of the K20C engine of the AP2.
A quote from the current edition of Motor Trend:
"Five-hundred-anything-horsepower is a lot, so I asked Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing to my feet. "Learn to use them." - Matt Stone
I love the color... I've been waiting on the new color for a while. Its not quite what I was hoping for, I was looking for a blue a little closer to the blue of the NSX. But, I still like it. Rims are looking better each time I see them but the fact that I do not like the inner "flower" portion of the rim hasn't changed my dislike of them. AP1 rims still looks better IMO.
But I know one thing, if I happen to be at my local Honda dealership and I see this I WILL be going home in it....................... i think
( Kinda hard to get rid of my first ya know). ........No I WILL be going home in it.

Ok, I'm through.

"I very briefly drove an '06 S2000 on Friday night. My biggest concern when I saw the '06 specs was the drive by wire throttle. I feared that the drive by wire system would kill the S2000's amazing throttle response, but it seems like Honda may have gotten it right. The car I drove only had around 20 miles on the odometer so I didn't drive it very hard, but the throttle lag seemed minimal. Good news indeed. I will try to spend more time with another '06 S2000 when they become available for loan here in Atlanta. At that point I'll be able to really give it a thorough evaluation. "

As an owner of an '04 Acura TSX w/ MT (released with the DBW system) I can tell you that I can feel an improvement in throttle response between it and the S. In fact it is so sensitive that low speeds it can and will jerk you around a bit (watch that Starbuck's coffee!). At normal driving speeds, combined with the MT is is great. Overall I would think that enthusists on this page would find it to be a welcome addition.
The TSX also has the VSA system... and although it is OK for my 4-door... IMO it does not belong on the S. Especially if it is installed the same way. On the TSX, you have to disengage it each time you start the engine (default = on).
Why have a RWD sports car and install a system to prevent all wheel spin? Even with the TSX the VSA will engage when you hit a bump in the road with the front drive wheels... I cannot imagine what VSA on an S would be like with it's much stiffer suspension.
