I'm at 10 months and 15k miles, so I think it's time to buy the extra 7/100 warranty. What have people been paying for it, and how did they get a decent price?

curiously,

Is that the honda warranty, or a third party? My memory was that people were paying around $700 for the Honda warranty if they worked the deal.

I can sell you a Honda Care Warranty through my dealership for the following:
7yrs/100K = $1395
7yrs/75k = $1000
6yrs/100k = $1170
6yrs/75k = $945
5yrs/100k = $995
5yrs/75k = $880
5yrs/60k = $720
4yrs/60k = $695

These are the $0 Deductible rates.
With the Honda Care you get Free Roadside Assistance, Trip Routing, and some other nice features as well.

If anyone is interested let me know.

How long after the purchase of the car can we buy the warranty?

Are you offering a group buy?

I'll bite if you can get 7/100 down closer to $7-800. After reading the previous threads on this issue, $1350 strikes me as too high.

Rounding to the nearest fifty, $1350 is pretty much twice what some people paid for the Honda 7/100k. Either they had deductable, or there is a hefty profit margin being made at the quoted and presumably list prices.

I think most people reported a rate of 6/100 for $800+.
I wasn't happy when I heard my wife closed on a 5/75 deal for $880 while I was at work.
What a ripoff!

If we buy one of these and then sell the car, will the new owner have it then?

The only stipulation for a Honda Warranty is you must be the original owner and the car has to be newer than 24 months old and have less than 24K miles. If it is less than 36 mo. and has up to 36K then there is a $60 surcharge.

As far as getting the price down the 7/100k costs me about $1200 so unfortunatly my hands are tied. Our normal price on these would be about $1600.
One thing to keep in mind these prices did go up Jan. 1, 2001 -- Thanks to Honda.

If there is anything I can do let me know and I will try!
