Default ~ Updated ~ Forced Induction Option Comparison

Before the flamers start flaming:

I posted a similar thread a few months ago comparing the Comptech supercharger kit, the base Lovefab turbo kit, and a stock motor. The stock dyno numbers and the Comptech numbers were taken from Comptech's website. The Lovefab numbers from the Lovefab website.

Now that there is yet another option for forced induction, I've added the BRP supercharger kit to the previous graphs. You guessed it...numbers from their website.

I don't know what type of dyno's these numbers were obtained with, and frankly, I don't care. I just look at each curve and do a plus/minus 5-10% in my head.

At the very least, it is very interesting to look at how each kit makes power. The "Torque Increase Over Stock" and "Power Increase Over Stock" graphs are the best at showing this. These are the money shots because it really shows you what you pay for.

Note: I did not include the Vortech supercharger kit, as I didn't want to clutter the graphs, but you can imagine similar or slightly better results than the Comptech kit. Also, the BRP numbers were obtained with an AP2 motor, while the others with an AP1.

If anyone complains about how these graphs were overlayed without taking into account the different dynos, different cars, different days, different atmospheric condtions, etc, I will personally drive, fly, or boat to wherever you are and punch you in the face.

That being said.....ENJOY!!

Not to nit-pick (since I don't want to get punched in the face ), but our most recent run was 315rwhp, not 280ish rwhp run you have listed.

Thats it! I'm driving down to the Carolinas to hunt you down. (More like to steal a kit)

Yeah, I noticed that too. I compiled the data a while ago with one of your earlier pulls. Your comment is actually good, constructive criticism. What I wanted to avoid was the useless flaming that occured last time. In your case, keep it coming.

On that same note, the Lovefab GT1 kit would totally spank the above results for their base kit. And Lovefab is on a mustang dyno!! I'm going to become the "flamer" here if I'm not careful

All these dyno runs are done on different days.

j/k. Nice job. Please don't punch me in the face.

Nice work slimjim. BRP, how do your current torque graphs compare to those, are they the same or different?

The only other thing I'd mention here is that these graphs start at 3000 RPM. The BRP SC has quite an advantage over any other form of FI in the low-end, and these graphs don't really show that.

None of these graphs are valid. Different dyno's, different conditions, different cars, different corrections, etc. This is as useful as moldy cheese but very good idea though

However they do show the shape of things. You can clearly see how the BRP has a low end advantage over the Comptech.

As mentioned the " increase over stock" is a useful comparison tool.

BRP was S/C AP2. For the "increase over stock" graphs, were AP2 stock figures used or was the S/C dyno simply overlayed on an AP1 chart?

IIRC AP2s tended to dyno higher stock figures compared to AP1s.

*waiting for punch*

Excellent effort...useful info. Only confirms I want LoveFab....what is this BRP....sorry, been out of the loop. But willing to spend...time and money researching a new product. I'm Vortech now, not impressed. Thanks for the info.
