Soft Top "Wear Area"
All - Can someone please post a picture of where the infamous (typical) wear mark(s) or area(s) on the S2K's top are at? If you could highlight the area(s), that would be groovy. I am going to likely purchase one this weekend (I haven't seen it in person yet) and want to specifically look out for the spot(s) in quesiton.
Thanks in advance,

First off, camera phone pics, sorry about the quality. Now then, hot-spots.
The latches rub here, especially if the elastic straps are worn out on the bar over your head. I added the rubber strips to protect.
The top hole is caused by the hardware in the bottom-most picture and there is some wear that may be caused by the hidden plastic shield in the picture below.
This is from a top replacement thread and shows the hidden shield
Some early models would get holes at the very bottom by the molding.
This is the inside mechanism that is doing its evil work. Some kevlar sail-repair tape is going here next week.
Hope this helps

great info. just got my 07. will keep an eye out for those areas.
also the manual said to rub shin-etsu silicon grease onto the seals that are in contact with the soft top. anyone tried it? if yes, does it help?
thanks again
