Default Installed my 9856 + Modifry...only interrupt works

i just got done installing my 9856 and modifry.

everything was wired and soldered.
when i first plugged it in to check if everything was ok......everything worked and all the side buttons (mode, ch., mute) worked fine.

then when everything was done and sat in place, the MODE, CH doesnt function anymore....but the MUTE still works (i wired it for interrupt).

anyone know whats up with this?

i reversed everything and see if it works but it doesnt....only the mute. i checked all the wires and seems fine...along with dip switches. (first 4up last 4down)

I'm having some gremlins in mine as well, all the DCI controls stopped working. Hit me up this weekend if your free, we can take a look at both of ours.

modifry's troubleshooting guide may help you figure out where to look:

9856 is IR-only, right? So I'd look for a problem with the DCI IR emitter or it's wire.

You can use a digital camera to see if the emitter is working - watch your camera's LCD screen while it's pointed at the "business" end of the IR emitter. When you send a command (other than mute) you should see the IR emitter light up.

wow didn't know that, great tip, I'm going to try that too...think that would work with a camera phone as well? My cam is dead currently

So I just talked to LS about 30 min ago and he said that it was transmitting an IR signal, whats the next step? He's sure all of his wiring is good...

Oh, and mine magically worked again this morning when I tried it, I'm lost with why it's so on and off as well
