Default EARLY REV LIMITER

well, i'm sure everyone is experiencing this cold weather. well, leaving work tonight. its about 23 degrees, and i'm sure much colder with the wind chill. i have a 25 minute ride home, and a did a couple vtec runs. i noticed the limiter was kicking in at around 7800, instead of the usuall 8k. i'm a little nervous. as the car was completely warmed up, and i had been driving for atleast 15 minutes. is this normal guys? i also have no cel. it was wierd, it would hit about 7800, then the limiter would kick in, and every once in a while, it would make it to 8, and would make the red slashes light up. help me out guys, thanks!

thanks for the reply. not sure if it was something that was just still very cold. maybe something electrical. but i would think that everything in the car/engine bay would get fully warmed up after 15 minutes of driving, or am i wrong?

the thing thats got me stumped on this, is that its not the good ol' "cold rev limiter". i mean, it kicks in right before 8k. i'm surprised i even noticed it.

maybe your tires lost traction for a split second and nailed redline?

Same thing happened to me. I was about 20 minutes into driving, on 3 bars. And it kicked in at 8,700 or so.

i'm just guessing it has to do with everything just so cold. i mean, all of the electrical components still freezing. after 15-20 minutes of driving, the engine is obviousley going to be at operating temps, but maybe in below freezing temps., it takes longer for 'everything' to warm up. i'm just trying to figure out the problem.
