New Civic Type R
Took a new Civic Type R for a spin last night, and aside from the boy racer / chav image this car is bound to attract, I was really impressed with it!
Nice and solid on the road, the steering felt very direct, and VTEC felt soooo much more accessible than on the S because it kicks in earlier - 5 or 5.5k rpmish I think - a very quick car! (Although I kept running out of revs because the red line is lower too). The driving position felt very good too, as did the position of the gearstick.
Not convinced by the whole Blackpool illuminations dashboard effect, but I suppose it's a grower - having your speed shown a fraction below your eyeline is almost the same as a head-up display I guess, and the 'VTEC Change Gear' lights right next to the speed were quite handy.
Lots of beeps and bongs coming from the on-board computer though, which were quite annoying so I hope they can be disabled - it beeped when you exceeded 30mph, then another warning at 50mph - oh and there was an ice warning too. Those speed warnings though really get on your nerves, as they warn *every* time you go over those speed limits - so if you're in slow moving traffic on a dual carrigeway for example it's going to go off every time you speed up.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you

What I cant understand is why they:
A. Didnt fit an LSD to the new car
B. Didnt fit the jap spec K20 engine (220BHP)
If they had of done those things then it would absolutely kill all other hot hatches IMO.

VERY Stupid of the dealers to leave them set imo.
They WILL put people off.
I peed Donna off by setting hers at 70 and moaning at her every time it pinged.

Actually. I Don't think she's worked out how to turn it off.
I should turn it back on again.

Think it looks great.
Other thing I have noticed is that pretty much all the models seem to look quite good. Most ranges have a top model, and the ones below it look like plastic cheap tat.
Guy at work has the 2.2 diesel and looks rather smart in Black.
If it was RWD or AWD and had 300bhp id have one
