Default Michelin Pilot Sport Cup

These tires are now available for everyone. They have sizes that will work great on the S2K in 16", 17" and 18".
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Finally... autocross tires in the perfect sizes for my soon to be arriving Volk CE28n's.

205/50YR17 $223
255/40YR17 $247

Now... if only they weren't so damned expensive

Jim, what's the scoop on these tires - are they even comparable to the Kumho V700 or Hoosier A3S03? Is Michelin pursuing SEB approval for Solo II competition?

OTOH if the treadwear rating is at least 100 it looks like it'd make a killer "street-tire" class tire. For that kind of money I'd expect them to last a while...

The treadware rating is 80 AA A. They are more comparable to the Hoosier and Kumho tires. The BMW and Porsche customers that I have that have driven them really like the tires. I have not driven on them yet.
The tires are a little expensive but they are suppose to give better tread life than the other comparable tires.
I will check on the SCCA approval.
This tire is not like the regular Pilot Sport. It is a dedicated competition tire. It is DOT approved but not made for the street.
Let me know if there are any other questions.

Will you have a spec sheet up on them soon? How long have they been available elsewhere in the world, or are we looking at a new tire?

In reading about the tire, I wonder haw much the concessions for wet/damp traction would affect dry performance. It is nice to see the sizes available for 17" wheels; the 205/255 combination seems ideal.

The spec sheet is listed on my post above. The tire is not new but it had only been available to Porsche Club racing up until now.
I have not had a chance to drive them yet but my customers have said they are equal to the Kumho and Hoosier in the dry with better tread life and wet traction than the other two tires.
That is all I can tell you at this time.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Hmmm, looking at the specs of other 205/50/17 tires, I wonder if putting that tire on an 8" wide wheel (ala CE28N) would be a good idea or not, as the wheel might be a little on the wide size for a 205.
