Vintage Membership and Posting Rules
Welcome to the Vintage Forum , led by Sam <sam_spider> and Alex <Vadster>.
Vintage lore says that "Vintage," does not refer to the age of our cars. Instead, we like to think that "Vintage" refers to our deep, collective understanding of the human experience as gained from the passage of time.
If you would like to become a part of our community, please read the rules below and post here whatever introductory information you want to provide publicly. We also would like you to post here any introduction you want to provide to let us know a bit about you, and any pictures you want to share.
Membership Rules & Regulations:
1. The minimum age required for Membership membership is 40 years.
2. Productive input from younger (under 40) owners is also encouraged. We call these folks "PreVints," or "The Little Table", and, though we cannot issue a membership badge, we welcome their participation.
3. Long signatures are discouraged in this thread, since photos posted here will already challenge folks without broadband.
4. Vintage Moderators reserve the right to delete pictures that are not significant to the S2000 Vintage Owners group.
5. In order to insulate the main Vintage Forum from heated political discussion and/or arguments, the the S2ki administration has created a Vintage Politics Subforum for threads and posts that are judged to have a title or content dealing with politics or religion. Members please feel free to contribute your political opinions and views in that venue. (cf. Politics posting rules.) The Vintage Moderators reserve the right to move threads or posts from the main Vintage Forum over to the Politics Subforum if it is deemed appropriate. Or posts in main Vintage threads that deal with politics or religion may be edited or deleted by the moderators at their discretion.
Membership Procedure:
If you wish, you may include the year/color of your S2000 in your profile and/or signature.

We hope you enjoy your membership in our community. Remember, it is the Forum members who determine the topics and content of the threads that get introduced in a moderated Forum. Moderators are not COs. It is not the primary responsibility of the moderators to start new discussions or introduce new threads in the forum. So be creative. Start the discussions that you would like to see on the board, and that you would like to participate in. The discussion here does not necessarily always center on automobiles.

With the new 2011 S2ki software format now in place, badges and badge assignment are no longer currently possible. Without the Vintage badge there is no visual token of Vintage membership, and thus no overt membership can be granted to newcomers to the Vintage posting group. Still, we retain the notion of "belonging to the Vintage Forum". So if you newcomers wish to be considered "members" of the group, please continue to consult the above rules of membership and sign in here, and we will welcome you -- even if we can't assign you a badge at this time.
[BTW it is still possible to copy and paste the original Vintage Forum Badge into your signature when you are a member, and that is what you see in the sig below.]
