id also like to add when cleaning pads, if you have an air compressor, that is a GREAT way to get rid of some compound in between buffing sections as well. Just run your buffer at a high rpm and spray the compressed air into the pad.

just a caution... dont start out at high speed-
experience talking here. the pad can "blow apart".
still remember my first pad drying experience. had the pad nice and clean- put it on the machine and turned it on way too fast. the pad just started flying apart!!
lesson- start out slow. in fact, i do my pad drying at very low speed.

ouch. ive never had it happeend, but i dont wanna have it happen ever! looks like im gonna start out slow. good advice!

LOL OMG, I learned drying the pad by spinning it fast the hard way toO, use low speed at all possible! PERIOD

very helpful! Hey DD you should make an intro or how to on using an high speed polisher such as the makita, metabo or cyclo.
