Radiator replacement
Hey all,
Radiator cracked and I've got the new rad, and am thinking of doing it myself this weekend. Anything I need to know? Seems like it should be straightforward. I got the little foam strip that seals along the top to the body also. I searched the forum and didn't see any DIY threads, so thought I'd post this up and ask.
Thanks in advance

I did mine myself about a month ago it was pretty easy the hardest part was getting the temp sensor off on the bottom. Also make sure you get that nice and tight when your putting it on the new one because it will leak if you dont. Also getting the hoses off the old one was a PITA they were kind of stuck on or something.

Funny thing is, I blew mine 3 days ago.. I upgraded to aftermarket since I already have 146k on the odo, and since I do plan on going all out with the car. So I got a Full Aluminum Koyorad, Samco hoses, J's racing thermostat, spoon fan switch, and other various parts..
Very simple process if you are just removing the radiator, and dropping in a new stock one.. Even better if you already have an aftermarket intake, since the airbox and all its gadgets are gone. Perform service when engine is cool, don't be a hero and try to get burned, it aint pretty..
Unhook all 3 (2-top/ 1 bottom) fan switches first, and tape them up with electrical tape so you don't damage the internals. Unbolt fans total of 5 screws.
Remove resovoir plastic overflow tank, and unscrew radiator cap.
Pop bottom hose off first and drain completely, then top hose to follow afterwards.
Unbolt radiator stays. Then remove radiator...
Done.. Then just reverse the process for your new radiator.
PM if you have any questions.. Hope this helps Rommel..

I recommend replacing stock radiator clamps with these, for a better seal..

Don't use ANY other coolant other than HONDA!!!! (You won't regret it)
Get them at the dealership, there already pre-mixed, so no water needed.
But I highly recommend flushing the entire system with DISTILLED water first, to remove any contaminants.

Here ar pics of my arsenal I chose to upgrade with.

Replace this too, if you can.. These tend to break and crack over time...
