I added some LEDs to my windscreen so it would illuminate the S2000 etched in it. How it works is when the lights are on the S2000 is illuminated white and when I hit the brakes it changes to red. Here are some pics of both modes.
During the day I'd say that its not quite brite enough, but at night its awesome! This install is just temporary though. I plan on using the module to trigger a single super brite blue LED on the A-pillar a little closer to eye level. Overall though I say it helps alot though, especially for the measly $30 I paid for it (I got it a while back before the price went up). It was really easy to install too. It took me a whole 30 mins!
Right now I have it set at 8500 which I think is just about right because in first you have to react pretty quick or you're gonna bang the rev limiter, but in second gear its perfect and in third you just hesitate a bit before shifting and so on.
Could you give a little bit more info on how you illuminated the windscreen like that? It looks amazing and I would like to do it if I knew how. Thanks.
The install was a major PITA! What I did was I drilled small holes in the bottom of the windscreen where they would be covered after it was installed in the housing. There are 4 "grain of wheat" white lights and 6 LEDs strategicly placed along the bottom of the windscreen. The 4 grain of wheat lights are wired in series and the LEDs are wired in series and parallel. This was all done so each of the lights/LEDs get the proper voltage. Wiring all the leads for all of those lights where they would fit inside the housing was a royal pain. It was like microsurgery! Basically I have 4 leads the came out the bottom of the windscreen housing (positive and negative for both the white and red lights/LEDs) and into the secret compartment. Then I wired up everything to proper power sources (running lights for the white and 3rd brake light for the red) and used a relay to switch between the white and red lights when the brakes were applied. I tried just leaving the white lights on and turning on the red LEDs when the brakes were applied but the white washed out the red so I added the relay to switch between them. If anyone had anymore questions, I'd be glad to answer them for you. Just be far warned before any of you try this...it is very tedious!
