Default Newbie... test drive !

Hi,.......been taking my time choosing between the 350z and the s2000 over the last few months....i was involved in a nasty bike accident nearly 18 months ago and the money im due to get from the amount of titanium inserted in my body is already burning a hole in my pocket.... n e way to cut a long story short i test drove the nissan last week and i thought a bit heavy but nice car....... i drove the honda today and omg i want one ! ! !

i was looking to spend between 8 and 10k on something with about 60k on the clock......should i be concerned about the milage ? and what year/model should i should be looking for ?....... thanks

you can pick up some decent examples for about 9-10k with that mileage, however if they are well looked after and have full history i wouldnt be scared of miles even over 100k! I went for a 2002 as its a slightly nicer interior as it has leather on the center console instead of carpet, and a heated glass rear screen instead of plastic which sometimes goes cloudy. You can pic one up in your price bracket (unfortunatly lol) depending on the colour and obviously miles. However if your buying a convertable always bear in mind that they are cheaper to buy in the winter than they are in the summer, so i would hurry up if i were you.

I'd go with a pre DBW car with all the extras you can get! Then you have the option of easy modding if thats your thing. Plus theres still plenty of pre DBW cars that are well looked after with good mileage.

Basically the newer cars after 06 have a drive by wire throttle. Currently harder to mod but not impossible. I'd think in the future this won't be an issue but I'm one of those having to wait.

If you buy an 04/05 you could still get one with features from the later cars. You'd save few quid anyway and a good hard search will find you a good un with nice mileage etc. I've had my 06 car almost a year now and coming here was a good move peeps are very helpful.

Much as I like the 350Z it appears to be more of a blunt instument where the S2000 is a scalpal. That's no discredit to the Z, I just think it's a much better cruiser and the S2000 a better fun car.

Be interested to hear your views.
