Megan header install

Default Megan header install

Well, I finally installed my Megan Header that I bought from Saggy31. For the most part the install went very well. A few of the bolts were tuff to get to but nothing too bad. As everyone suggested, lifting the car up high enough was key. Installing the new header was real easy. Most of the work was removing the oem.

I replaced the upper and lower gaskets just to be safe. I had read a few posts about people having issues with the O2 bung position but mine was perfect, just like the oem position. The TP\Cat and stock exhaust alignment didn

Anyone have any opinions on the Megan Header/TP with either the Skunk2 or Megan dual exhaust systems? I would consider other dual systems too but I am looking for the sub $700 range and both of these systems are in that range new.

if you want to be cheap hollow out the resonator and chop the oem mufflers and weld in some aftermarket ones, keeping the stock piping. it'll be substantially cheaper than anything out there.

i see you bought it from steve i felt a better throttle response just with my FIPK and the megan header than when i had the testpipe and megan 2.5 single exhaust along with it. you got a good deal lol i was thinking of buying my header back from steve

Oh, that was your header? You kept nice and clean, thanks! Yes, that was a great deal! I watched and waited and it paid off. I hope I can do the same with a nice exhaust here in the next few months.

My first mod was the K&N Typhoon and nothing else. To me it gave me the most noticeable gains but I think that is because it addressed the head bog issue, it gets real hot in Texas. The I/H/TP combo is great but I think I need an exhaust and tune to complete it. I can go without the tune for a bit but eventually I will want to get a tune to see the full potential of an I/H/TP/E. Even if it is only with a VFAC (another item I hope to find used) and tuned just for WOT.
