Default Megan header vs Stock header

I am thinking of picking up a megan header. It is inexpensive so I am a little scared. Is megan header better than stock? Do we gain any? Do we lose any power? Please help. Thank you.

Some have seen a few hp gains with that I think. Others will tell you it will lose power.

Have you looked at the PLM header? Only around $400 and supposedly has some nice gains especially for the price!

Im running a jvt header which is the same oem style design as the megan and I do like it. I've seen reports of people picking up 3-5whp peak and some descent midrange gains over stock which is great for a cheap ebay header... some top brand headers even struggle to make noticeable gains as the s2k oem header is already well engineered from the factory.

im running the PLM header and i could definantly feel a difference, especially in the mid-range....then again, this was on the butt dyno, but i have consistently seen people gain 5-11 hp with that header

I'm running the Megan.saw 3hp and 4tg from 3900-9k on the dyno and it weighs a load less.I got it used for 150shipped so it was worth the money in that retrospect. And it looked nicer in the bay till she got dirty haha

stay far far away from them, you lose a decent amount of power D:

you can usually tell which headers are going to lose power...for example, the megan and dc headers have primaries that are noticeably smaller than the stock exhaust manifold...j' racing, amuse, and PLM have primaries that are significantly larger...its not rocket science...i personally would stay away from anything involving engine components from megan or dc...you want a good header that makes good power and dont want to pay 1500 dollars, go PLM...
