SO2=>MZ-01 = Silly => Serious
I just got my Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-01's installed on my OEM rims today.
OH MY GOSH! No words are good enough to describe the difference on packed snow and ice! I used to FEAR driving the fairly flat two blocks from my home to the main road. My street has packed snow for much of the winter and the SO2s act like they've got minds of their own and it is Jim Carey's mind!
The Blizzaks think they are tires on a car meant to go!
My local Firestone/Bridgestone dealer beat http://www.tirerack.com. I paid about $4 more per tire but they include free mounting, $7/tire balancing, free winter/summer rotating. I paid $538 total and will get free winter/summer changes for the lives of the tires.
By the way, I'll put my OEM SO2s on the six spoke JDM rims I'm getting. I could get free winter/summer mounting, but this will save wear and tear on the tires.
I am SO happy. This will add LOTS of fun pleasure driving.
I thought a good bit of the S2000s squirreliness on snow was due to the S2000 being rear wheel drive. I now believe 99% of the car's winter handling silliness is due to the SO2s.
Oh yes. I was half convinced my dealer had left the spring spacers in my car because the ride is so much more stiff than my '93 Prelude. Nope. I checked all the springs while it was up on the lift and the springs had no spacers
