Default Winter tire suggestions

Well I was wanting to keep the S02's for the winter as it will not be drivin in the snow, but had not even considered the effects of super cold dry temps on the tires. So im thinking I will just get a set of winter tires. What sizes and brand/model of tires would you guys recommend. Thanks in adavance for the help.

If you are not going to drive in the snow then you could get away with SO2 as long as you apply common sense driving. However, if you are going to drive your car in the winter at all then, it is a wise idea to get yourself a set of dedicated snow tires for your S2000.

I had LM22 through one winter season and they did perfectly fine in the snow. WS50 is more assuring.

Good luck.

I don't want to run RE050s in the cold, either!

Dunlop Winter Sport M3s are "Winter Performance" tires, and come highly recommended - I am mounting mine in another week or so, so I don't yet have personal experience, but Jim at Tire Rack assured me they would be great for our winters, except in the occasional blizzard. And I was looking for something to preform well in the cold, wet, and mush we often get. I think the Blizzaks are more a dedicated snow tire but I could be wrong, here.

I'm putting AP1 standard sizes on my AP2; using stock AP1 rims.

LM22/LM25 are nice tires with a good split between performance and traction. A friend has the WS50's on his Z4 and that car goes places his truck can't. It is a true studless winter tire if you really want confidence. The Dunlop M3's are also decent.

I used the Sport M3's last winter in stock AP1 sizes. They worked very well. In snow and slush they are pretty good.

I had the Blizzak WS-50s on my old car, and they were amazing in the snow. Like was mentioned, I could go anywhere I wanted with them in the snow. However, they sucked in the dry.

The M3s are a great balance between snow and dry. From what I have read, the LM22/25s are about the same.

Let's all remember to post experiences with different winter tires as the season progresses So many of our Cincy guys put their cars in for the winter, that it is difficult to get local experience, and I think that would be valuable. Our winters are pretty unique, and wide-ranging in their severity.

Love my LMs on the S2000, still passing snow plows and has taken everything Ohio has dished out. Also had WS50s (on our long since gone Accord & Integra) but they are really soft and mushy in the dry.

I realize the guy has already bought tires but for other's reference, if you live where there is snow on the ground more than 50% of the time get a full snow like the WS, if less get LMs.
