Default Stock ECU From Another Car

Hi group,

I purchased a stock ECU from another car. I'm under the impression that I'm unable to directly swap out the AEM EMS for another car's stock ECU as the ECU is from, well, another car. I'd appreciate it if someone would help me understand what exactly has to happen for the swap to go smoothly.

Thanks,

You will have to have the "new" ECU paired up with your keys. Otherwise, the immobilizer will prevent the car from starting. I'm almost certain that you will have to go to the dealer for this.

Weak but thanks for your reply. It sounds like it is a matter of bringing the ECU down to the honda dealership and having them flash it.

drive the car to honda w/ the AEM EMS. swap to the stock ecu and have them program the immobilizer to the stock ECU.

Yes the only way is to use the Honda programmer tablet thing at the dealer to pair it up.

I'd appreciate if someone can confirm whether this is doable without bringing the entire car in as I'm undergoing a project with an acquaintance-buddy of mine to put the thing back to stock.

You need to take the car to honda to program the keys, no other choice.

Hondata, with an 03 Kpro setup, its it possible to use the RSX key barrel and get the immobilizer to work with a reflash at Acura?
