Default 02 s2000 soft top rattle when windows down

I have noticed this rattle from day one. With the top up and the windows up there are no rattles. As soon as any window is lowered a little, I start to hear a CLICKING sound and it's coming from the middle bar on the soft top roof. If I push up on that bar it goes away. The sound reminds you of a metal button flapping in the wind. If you put the windows back up, it must push on the top a little and the noise goes away..

Any else have this, or know a quick fix?

Thanks. Mine seems to be coming from that middle bar. When the top is up and the windows are down I can also make it happen by pushing up a little on that bar.

I have a little clicking even with the windows up, doesn't bother me though, the road nose drowns it out

The hardtop will solve it.

I am getting the roof catches replaced under warranty due to wear. roof goes up and down at nearly every opportunity, like every day, sometimes more often. my roof catch of the left started to rattle a few months ago when the car was about a year old. FWIW.

I'm bringing my car in tomorrow for the sparkplug tsb and am going to have that clicking looked at. Anyone else have it and find the problem? Read my first post for more details at the top.

I'm having same problem, but nobody seems to be able to find exactly where it's coming from or what's causing it (also had it since day 1)

It's fixed! Above your head to the left and right there is a small plastic sleeve with a screw in the middle of it. The tech took those off on either side, (they are right above each window) and lubed them up and the clicking is GONE!

Everything is good.
