Default Socal Clubs exhaust conversion

I am wanting to hear from some of the SoCal members that have done the dual to single exhaust conversion that uses the MagnaFlow muffler.
What I am wanting to know is how loud, type of sound........
Is it a little or a LOT louder than the stock exhaust. When I was talking to them at the muffler shop; their office manager said "Oh that's one of those fast and furious mufflers that the guys have been putting on there Civics. I didn't know they made a convertible Civic.".
I just turned around and walked out. I decided that I'd find a dealer that at least knew he wasn't working on a Civic. Anyway......I have heard some of those "Fast and Furious" Civics running around here at night.....It's not gonna sound like that I Hope?????

Can someone bring me up to speed why there is/has been interest in converting to ONE exhaust from dual?

What am I not getting here?

You will gain more horsepower and lose more weight going to a single exhaust. Most of the aftermarket dual exhausts only show a 1-4 HP gain, and still weigh quite a lot.

my impression is that most aftermarket exhaust is louder than the stock.

and single outlet exhaust would be topping the list of the loudest exhaust out there.

** i am still waiting the the Ti version of a single outlet street exhaust **

The team spugen exhaust is loud, it sounds nothing like a civic though, more along the line of a spoon or amuse exhaust.

The single notion has is loud, it has a nice rumble below 6200 but when you really open it up it sounds very very nice, almost a tanabe like sound. The dual which is what I will have soon sounds a lot like the mugen, a little understated but very mellow down low but at WOT it really really lound, just a little softer then the single.

By the way Spugen means anything you build yourself or have built. One of the great thing's about these exhausts is the price, you get the weight savings and the sound for next to nothing, the dual ran about 300 the single 125 or so depending on how far back you run the piping.

I am having to pipes built a track only open that will exit on the side of the car, and a single or dual (haven't decided if I really want the extra sound) with 3 inch piping all the way form the cat.
