Rear shock gone
Ok, one of my rear shocks has gone so I'm looking for a little advice.
I don't track the car and it's a daily driver, so would you just get both rears replaced, stock for stock or would you be tempted to go down the coilover route, considering how much Honda would charge for this work to be done.
Does anyone actually have a ball park figure for Honda to replace the two rear shocks?
And how much would a decent(ish) set of coilovers for road use cost with fitting?

Honda parts price is roughly £490 per shock, according to this http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/honda_ca...&block_03=19250

You could get the gaz coilovers in the group buy for £495. They are comparatively soft for road use but I cant comment as never seen them. There is a thread about it however.
I would go coilovers as you could get a problem with the front shocks in 6 months time with the old oem ones!

I know you're in the UK, but I had the exact same problem as you on my 05 ap2.
I dont know if the pricing scheme is the same, but the dealer is going to charge you an arm and a leg to get JUST the two rear shocks replaced. Mind you, the dealer isn't going to want to just replace shocks when they could buy the whole spring+shock assembly from the factory and foot you with the bill.
in US dollars, I think the dealership wanted upwards of $1200 dollars for parts+labor for two rear struts. $1200 dollars?! WHAT?!
After researching long and hard, I settled on the Koni Dampers. Oh man, It's been so good to be so far. First of all because they're adjustable. Secondly because they were only 510 shipped for all 4 shocks. Thirdly, because you have the choice of mounting the perch in the stock height or to have half inch drop with the stock springs which in my opinion is perfect for retaining drivability and adding just a touch of appearance.
It's a total package. and I saved myself 700 dollars. Yowza! well good luck.
