Ok, over the past couple years we have all seen a pretty crazy amount of builds...stock this stock that.

I started out on this bandwagon, and learned a few things along the way.

I'm thinking this would help future users gauge the whp and longevity of their build if they had a list of the guys here, or people you have carnal knowledge of guys who have hurt their stock motor. Doesn't matter the reason, just post what gave out and what power level you were at.

I'm curious how many stock s2k's are still out there, and what power levels they are making.

I'll keep this list updated, maybe we can find a common ground, which I already think I know is the 400-500whp mark.

I'll start.



SiAdam - Stock F22
509whp/357wtq, 30r, 110 - no issue (1yr)
650whp/418wtq, 6262, 93, water/meth single nozzle. Melted piston/oval cylinder (dyno tune)

Irishflame27 - Stock F20C
456whp, 35R, 91oct, Melted piston/oval cylinder (4months of lots of abuse)

Neeman77 - Stock F22 w 3mm headgasket
616whp, 35r, 116 - dropped valve

400whp, T3 60 Trim, 92oct. 1 year no issues

dsddcd - Stock F20 Lowend w/ Head Gasket, Ferrea Valve Train
360FTLB Torque @ 21PSI, 9300 RPM Rev Limiter, Mase Manifold, 91 OCT, 50,000 miles.
Warped Exhaust Valves with Greddy kit, No other Issues 7,000 miles of boost

DFWs2k - Stock f20c w newer oil jet bolts,
450 whp/288wtq, 93 octane
inlinepro sidewinder, 15 psi, 9500 rpm rev limit, ~80k miles on engine when turbo installed, ~94k now

Mistman - Stock f22.
410whp/240tq, gt35r, 10lbs, 91 octane.
Boosted for 2 years and 12k miles, 22k on motor now, no issues.

TurboR - Laskey built short block, stock head, 2.2L, Mase's kit
720whp/528tq @ 32psi E85, stock diff and tranny, 7k races every weekend. No issues.

passmans2kny - stock f22, 04 with 3mm hg
535hp 400ft/lbs 3500-4000 miles later blew the hg, going back to stock hg at 12psi, retuning nov 8th, hoping for over 450
Rebuild: full race/ full blown 8374 borg warner turbo build, still waiting for parts to come in, hopefully be done in 2 months, shooting for 750+

camuman - stock F22c top to bottom
350whp roots blown and aftercooled with water/meth injection
13k miles / shade under 3 years and counting

Suzuka Joe - Stock f20c
280@11psi, greddy kit at 72k
422/261@13psi, 74k Mase kit 5857
78k now with zero issues

Soul Coughing -
1st - Stock f20, 40k miles and was an '01 with the older oil jets, stock comptech supercharger with AC and ran it lean over one night and scored a cylinder.
2nd - stock f20, used bottom end, reused my old head, running an AEM EMS, 3mm headgasket and a 3inch pulley, making 14psi at 9500 rpms, last 3k miles, dropped valve, grenading the bottom end and head.
3rd - f22, been turboed for 15k before i bought it, now has 65k miles of boost on it, revving to at least 8500 the entire time. 380whp, 420whp, 475whp on 3 seperate 3mm headgaskets and between 300-365ft/lbs of torque. Back to stock compression 448whp and 302ft/lbs of torque and the motor still feels strong and idles normally.

sIIooo - Stock f20c, Turbo
320hp over 100k miles last 8k boosted. Rings went bad and screwed the block.
F22 with a supertech built head that I just got running again last night.

NFRs2000NYC - Stock f20
300hp/220tq. 2003, Greddy Kit, test pipe, HKS exhaust. Runs flawlessly in any weather. Car has 42K on it, last 4K (one year) being boosted.

Boosted it at 9K miles my 3mm HG blew at 30K miles on it. Lasted 20K miles of boost. 519 whp 400 torque @ 18.5 psi. Every chance I get I take her to the track. First couple of years I use to beat the crap outta her. Nowadays I just take it easy. Race it only at the track.

ZSAK - f20
370whp - inline pro stage 1 kit
Been boosted for 3 years and little over 10k miles. only problem I have now is some smoke coming from exhaust, I have a feeling its the turbo seals. Car still idles perfect and runs strong

1st Setup:
F20c, Fully built head, Comptech S/C running a 7psi pulley. To be honest I don't remember the exact power range it wasn't much maybe 360hp or something. I had it for a little while I probably put about 20k on it with this kit but it wasn't enough for me so I sold it.
2nd Setup:
F20c, 3mm head gasket, Stock head bolts, Fully built head, Full Race 35R turbo kit. I was making 580whp/360tq @ 19psi on pump gas and the car was beastly. I drove it hard for about 4000 miles until the head gasket popped on me. Pulled the head off to find some scoring on the cylinders started to disassemble the engine to find my rings were disintegrating. So I started to do some research about bottom ends and while I was checking into the references of this one member who had an engine for sale. I stumble across another member whom had a 2.4 stroker for sale. This member is well known and has been on the board for years longer then me so I buy his engine instead. But then long story - short I get screwed on this engine, all four sleeves are either above or below the deck. So now I'm going to inlinePRO and have Jeremy Allen build me a block. I'll post up here when I have my next setup going and tuned to keep this updated

JoeyBalls - stock f22 w/IP 3mm h/g

Headgaslet blew at 2,500 miles due to what I believe was boosting while MAJOR timing was pulled
New Headgsaket and running 12lbs daily High boost is 20lbs, but have yet to use it, so hopefully car lasts

Comptech SC w/ 3.2" pulley ~12psi - Maybe 360whp or so. About 25k miles boosted (some at stock boost, some at high boost). AEM standalone and 750cc RC Engineering Injectors - Stock HG
TRACKED on road course, bang off the rev limiter, auto-X, and still running perfect.

dibi - f20
80000 miles, fully built head, 3076r, custom ballistic kit, 3mm HG, arp head studs, aem ems, rc 750cc injectors. Lasted about 7000miles then blew the hg. Replaced HG and that lasted about 1000 miles before it blew again. 454hp 330 ftlb TQ @14psi
#2 Engine being rebuilt by wadzii with mahel pistons, bc rods, ect. aem WM kit to be added. Retune by Jeff Evans. Updates comming in the spring

A51_AP1 - f20c
86000 miles (32k boosted), built head (Supertech Springs, Retainers, new OEM valve stem seals since the old ones had burnt out), 2mm Headgasket with ARP Head Studs.
19psi w/ Full-Race Turbo Kit and GT3567R (Full-Race Spec 35R) - 507whp, 300wtq. Tuned on 91 Octane and 15% meth injection.
The only issues I have are over heating issues on road course tracks. I recently installed a new fan setup so I'll update later on about how that goes. Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with the stock motor.

Greddy'd for 10 months / 5k miles, base map, no tune. Car overheated (all the way across the gauge) while sitting in traffic last summer; no permanent damage found yet. Contributing factors include turbo heat and the driver's side fan being unplugged.
SOS SC'd for a month now (tuned, only 326whp due to belt slip).
Car runs great. However, I recently found that the tops of my pistons are pitted. (They look like the surface of the moon.) Not sure which kit caused it, but of course guessing Greddy.

Just a thought, torque would be a better judge than HP of the stress on the rotating assembly. Also it would be good to know the manifold design, engine milage and Revlimiter RPM.
