many of the LSx innovations came out of the northstar program which is a destroked and twin cam Chevy v8 variant. A large portion of the ancillaries including the current generation of v8 transmissions owe much of there development to these programs to compete on a world stage against bmw ect. He's using the drive train from a zr1 instead of the s2k trans unlike many of the current v8 swap cars. The bonus is the weight is less than the s2k engine not more without it's ancillaries and similar response.
but your a chevy guy so you already knews this.

I understand it's a cool looking engine, but it doesn't really do much. At least the 4.6 Northstar has a little more power.
The S2000 LS swaps I seen were using a T56 trans, not the S2000 trans.
With that said, I like the 4.0 and 4.6, however in this case it's a pointless swap for an S2000. You're only gain about 90ftlbs of torque over an f20c and that's about it.

The standard numbers are ok but it's a drift car so the low end tq is good, the drive train was free and the tunability of that or any v8 is impressive.
This one looks like it may end up around 450-500hp all motor and over 350lb ft of tq.
Plus with a dry sump the motor sits so low it's gonna handle like a cracked out go kart.

I just finished up a little cleanup on one and the guy did it for 5K soup to nuts but is using a quad cam 4 liter v8 from the oldsmobile aurora he got for free.
It's the same motor they used to build for indy cars and it's very light and makes alot of power. Like the one below.
It's going to Malaysia I think soon after more fab work but I'll see if he will drive it out to the local meets one night.

Why not just do it right like I did?
You MUST get an LS3 like I did over the LS2.. It puts down 30 more HP over the LS2 with the improved head design and increase in displacement. My bank account is drained till I sell my S and I've already got my first ticket but it's been 100% worth it.

I wish I had the money for an ls2k for daily driving and the boosted S for special occasions. I need to save up and work harder and make it happen.
