Post Did a compression test..

... and everything was perfect.

Cylinder 1 - 240 psi
Cylinder 2 - 235 psi
Cylinder 3 - 230 psi
Cylinder 4 - 237 psi

However, I had a hard time pulling out the spark plug in the No.4 Cylinder. When I got it out, I took a look at it and it looked a little burnt and there seemed to be some carbon build up or something. I checked the gap and it was pretty far out of spec. It was at .020 and it needed to be up around the .040 range.

I checked around to find some new NGK spark plugs, the same ones that come in the car from the factory, but I couldn't find any.

So, for now, I just filed down some of the deposits from the spark plug and re-gapped it. The ticking that I had been hearing for a while is now quieter but I'm still gonna change out the spark plug when I get a chance.

Anyway, I'm really happy now. Not just that my compression checked out fine but I'm also happy because I always get a sense of accomplishment when I work on my car... It's a great feeling.

Alright, sorry for the long write-up. That's all.

Yeah, that's true... I don't know what the heat range of the stock plugs are though. hmm... Maybe I can find it.

Did Nick bring his DJ equipment over last night or something?

My car is an 01 and a couple years after i got the car, there was a recall on the cars sparkplugs. The ones in the manuals are wrong. They were suppose to update my book after the recall but I dont think they ever did.

Yeah, the recall was performed on my car already. It's very possible that this happened when my cylinder head was replaced.
