GI Chairmn, the all American hero part III
GI Chairmn, the all American hero part III, I think it's more like part 10, but I don't know roman numerals.
I was driving home from the shop. I came to the deciding intersection. At this intersection I can take the highway or the side streets. I decided to take the that side street because it floods and I love to splash in the xterra. As I make the turn a Toyota Tundra flips twice on the highway and slams into a tree. I flip a u turn and hit my flood lights to draw attention. I run over to the fence to see a lady completely knocked out and dangling out of her window. I grab my phone and dial 911 but there is no reception (because of the rain?). At this point other people are stopping and everyone is dialing 911 with no luck. They yell at me to find a land line. I run across the street and call for an ambulance.
When I get back to the lady is still knocked out, but was still breathing. A guy with a sombrero stood there holding the ladys head so that she could breath while another woman kept talking to her and another man held the truck from rolling over. All these people were standing in the mud and water while the rain drenched everyone.
The whole time we heard the asian guy that caused the accident yelling "she hit me, she hit me". Honestly, nobody cares this lady is knocked out and could die and we don't care who's liable.
Normally when there is a car accident I've been able to help pull people out, help with the fire, or help somehow. This time I couldn't do anything but block traffic and call the paramedics. It's a very useless/helpless feeling.
I think she was rushed to Jari's hospital. at 6:30pm
Here are the pix.
Everyone who stopped and helped was Latin (Mexican?), The guy in the sombrero was wearing his good clothes and didn't care that he was standing in a mini swap.
What's crazy is that I was going to take the hwy because I like driving in the rain. There's a really good chance I would have been right there when it happened. Everyday we make these life changing decisions and don't realize it.
Drive safe, pay attention and stay classy San Diego.
