Default Missing OIL CAP

Okay, here's the sitch... I had my car in for service for brakes, oil change, and air filter cleaned. I picked up my car on Thursday. It is now Saturday. Well tonight, on my way home from work I noticed a smell. Thought it was gas or oil but from someone else's car. But the smell kept following me. So when I got home I popped the hood and noticed my oil cap missing! Mind you, I drive aggressive sometimes and did since I got my car back.
Now I'm stuck without a oil cap and a stinky car. I'm waiting for the car to cool down so can check the oil. There doesn't seem to be a mess around where the cap should be so I'm hopeful (but it's kinda dark out). I also use Mobil 1 (if that makes a difference).
I need to get the car back into the shop come Monday. So the question is should drive it back without an oil cap? Will it be safe? Or should I wait till I get one on first?
I want them to know that they forgot to put it back on in case there is damage to the engine.
So freakin' frustrated right now! ...*going to kick the dog*... jk

Who did the sevice? I would take another car back down there and see if they have your oil cap, If they do put the cap back on and take it back to them so they can clean your engine and top off your oil!

If oil is low have them do a compression test.

I would do a compression test anyways, who knows what could have gotten in.

I have a mugen oil cap (without the sticker though and an ASM one in its place...LOL) its yours for 15 if you want it.

Dont drive the car anymore more without an oil cap, put one on asap. Also I wouldn't worry about any issues other than driving on low oil, as long as you have all the plastics in place its unlikely anything got in (I have had friends drive around without them and a few freinds that had theirs fall off and they had no issues).

I had mine fall off for like 2 mins. Good thing I was top down and noticed the smell immediately so I was able to put the cap back on before I lost it while driving or something.

Good luck with your car.

My work did the service so... He's is actually a friend of mine. I talked to the service manager who happened to show up for who know's what reason (it's Sunday). I'm going to use a cap from a new S2K until tomorrow when I bring it back in. I'm probably going to have another oil change just in case some impurities got in.
I looked at the engine in the light today and it's a little messy in there. I know they'll take care of me, or at least I hope.

I checked the oil and there is a good amount still left (it's inbetween the HI and LOW on the stick).
I'll talk to the mechanic tomorrow about the compression.
