Default WOO HOO....It Worked!

About 2-3 months ago I got a ticket for driving in the carpool lane (unintentionally). Following the directions of the ticketassassin.com website, I filed a "Trial by Declaration" and paid my $357.00 bail. Today I was notified that I was found "NOT GUILTY" and that my $357.00 will be mailed back to me. Thank God these cops are to lazy to fill out the paperwork when they're not being paid to so!

So what do you mean that the cop didnt file the proper paperwork? Isn't the only thing they need to file is the ticket? So confused!!

If you file a "Trial by Declaration" the cop has 30 days to give his written version, or dispute yours. Since they do this on their "free" time and are not paid, most don't bother. If they don't respond, you are found "Not Guilty" and get your bail refunded. The CHP that got me on this bogus rap was a cocky prick anyway...you knew he wasn't going to take the time to follow up.
