One of the reasons I replaced my '01 with the '05 is the rear window upgrade. On the old car, I spent time every car wash polishing the plastic window. I still couldn't completely clear up the band of scratches in the middle section of the window. Also, I don't have covered parking at work and late winter nights were a real hassle. I had to manually clear the window on those cold nights.
The field of vision through rear view mirror view of the glass window doesn't seem any smaller than through the plastic window.

It's simply not a big factor when measuring the satisfaction derived from my car. I like the visibility factor with my plastic window and actually prefer the look. With the right equipment it's easily maintained. I just can't see the point in buying a whole new top and window when there is nothing wrong with the one I have.
The only thing that bugs me about the plastic window is that in some instances it's possible for it to crease when the roof is lowered. I simply used a window tube (only when my car was parked in my garage) to train mine and have rarely had a problem with it.

You can just replace the plastic. $180 +/-
The window zips out on 3 sides, the bottom side is riveted-- which a simple pop rivet gun can take care of.

Has anyone replaced their 00/02 soft top with the new 03-06 soft top with glass? I just purchased a used 2001 and can not see through the plastic window. Received a quote for a new 03 top with glass but was told by another individual that I would need to order additonal parts. No one at the Honda Dealership could tell me anything. However, they did give me this website. Can anyone help?
