Default 07 Berlina Black

Hello S2Ker's

This will be my 2nd Berlina Black-first one was 07 with 36k miles back in 2012, the one now is still an 07 with 7800 miles in pristine close to die-cast status. I plan on keeping it stock Sunday car till about 10 years from now when I have more time, then maybe I'll build. Always built euro cars in the past, I have to say though for the budget, nothing beats the ride and feel S2k gives you. I hope you all can help, I posted under tires...I am running the original tires from the dealer which makes it 12 years old, the tire is still in great condition. For safety I will be replacing them but just wanted to get your thoughts if I should still keep the actual tires for authenticity purpose and value-kinda limited with space but can make room.

AFAIK, tires do not add to the value of a car and theres literally no reason to keep them around. Change them out so you can enjoy the car and not worry about risking you life.

I can't imagine that there would be any benefit to keeping those tires.

If your long range (or even short range) plan is to "build the car" any collectiblity is moot.

I see no value in keeping the original tires around at all. Unless it is going straight into a bubble as a museum piece never to be driven again, I don't get the point. If it had 7 miles on it ... maybe.

I recently bought a 2000 berlona black ap1 with extremely low mileage on it and had the original brigestone proenza tires that were 19 years old from a family member.I replaced them with some contintal extreme contact sports. Decided to have the shop get rid of them.

My father in law who i bought the car from was pissed because he thought I runed the value of the car by not keeping the old useless rubber.

I can't convince him otherwise.

I explained that I am not going to sell my s2000 any time soon no matter how much money it's worth. Because then i would not have such an amazingly fun car to drive anymore.
