2002 S2000, so how did I do?
Seems like the color also dictates price. I guess I could have hoped to find one that way and save a few dollars, but Silver was the only color option for me. Silverstone maybe, but Sebring Silver is more in tune with my aesthetic. Where are you from? Around NYC/Tri state, none are that cheap with such low miles that I could find.

I paid $10.7k for an 02 Suzuka with 48,000 miles. The condition was good, its just a wax, detail, and touchup away from GREAT. I'm happy with my purchase. I did however buy another soft top as I can't stand the look of the tear!

Suzuka blue's don't fetch the prices that some of the other colors do, so its not really a fair comparison.
You paid right around market. I got my 2002 Sebring with 43,900 miles in June of last year for $14K flat. One owner, all original pretty much like new, 9/10 condition. It was from a dealer and I am in the tri-state area.
Thanks for the welcome everyone. This is a great forum and I used it as a resource in my lead up to buy my S2000. I am not new to Hondas as my first 3 cars were Honda Civics. My 1992 Civic Si hatch is still one of my favorite cars I ever owned. I still have my 1997 Honda Civic Ex Coupe that has 64,000 miles on it and runs like a champ. That is only driven to the train station daily by the girlfriend.
My other car is a Subaru Outback, so the S2k is gonna be a great contrast on the nice days. Looking forward to the warmer weather so I can detail it myself and start enjoying with the top down.
I must say that this car looks great with the top up though.
Regards,
Jeff

I was looking at selling mine to the Honda dealership and they only offered me $9000. My 2003 S2K, Sebring Silver with Red interior, had only been serviced by them and had about 58000 miles at the time. I don't know what they would sell mine for here in Alabama; but I couldn't imagine them putting up around 14.5 when they only offered 9k. You did say they charge a little more for used cars in your area. I also had a Civic before. I had a 2000 Honda Civic Si. It was a great car. Well, I know you will enjoy your S2K. Find some curvy roads, a track, or a local autocross to see what it can really do. Good luck! One thing you will find about Sebring silver S2Ks is that they are not modified a lot because they are so beautiful to begin with.

Thanks, Sebring really is the only choice for me. It is a CLASSIC color and the lines of this car lend itself perfectly to that color. It has an almost retro style in silver with the black top.
As far as the trade in value and what a dealer will sell car for, they would absolutely put it up for $14k. It is well known that dealers actually do much better on their used cars than new car sales. In fact, when new popular cars are flying out of lot, they may only make $1k on car. They deal in volume, but they can screw people on trade ins and sell for several thousand more.
BMW is good at this, that is why they give people free service during lease so they know they are getting back cream puffs because they sell them as used and make a ton of $$$$ second time around.

and welcome....
