Default 2007 GPW

Hey guys I picked up my 2007 GPW! 3 days ago! I have been loving every single day when I drive this car. It is an amazing piece of machinery. There is nothing like cruising down the freeway (in style) with the top down and the wind blowing through your hair. I can feel all my burdens rushing down my shoulders, truly amazing! I apologize I just can't get over this car. My only regret is I didn't buy one sooner. LOVE LOVE LOVE this car!

I want to keep my s2k near stock specs with the exception of some bolt ons.
So future mods...
Priority is an AP2 lip stat!
Quieter dual exit exhaust
17" Bronze CE28's
OEM hardtop (undecided on color matched or black on my GPW)

I would be getting a carfax report #1. It might just be me, but the back bumper doesnt appear to match the quarter panels. Carfax should reveal some secrets for you.

Wow thats been driven a lot for only 3 years, I have that on my S and is an 01. It looks really clean in the pictures like you said. Are you going to keep it with the aftermarket parts or go back to stock? If you go stock you can sell all of that to make some money back, but i still think you can get it down at least 1.5k.

$18K is really cheap for that car...trust me. Don't worry about rock chips and stuff it's a USED CAR. Sometimes people forget that. I say buy it.

That's a tough call on the front bumper. Could have been mild damage that the owner wanted to fix, or could have been something bigger. With a bumper...it doesn't take too much damage to get to the point where you're better off replacing it. Definitely get a carfax and see if everything seems like it's in order.

The other thing that jumped out to me is that it's an '07, but the wheels are off of an '04-'05 model. Again, could just be owner preference, where somebody made a trade, etc... or the car could have been a lot more fooled around with that either the current owner is making you aware of, or knows.

Hopefully everything works out with you. If everything is on the up and up, the price seems pretty reasonable. If things start looking fishy, don't be afraid to walk away, they'll be another one to look at next week.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I wasn't aware that carfax has raised their prices. 35 dollars for one run is quite a bit. I just dove in and purchased the 45$ for 5 runs. Well the vehicle history checked out clean. No accidents and it is a 2 owner vehicle.

Do you guys have any recommendations on a PPI in Orange County? I am no expert, but things looked 'okay' to me when I saw the car today. I think I would be more comfortable if a pro inspected as they are familiar in what to look for? Let me know. Thanks guys!

Tough call without seeing it in person.I personally would be a bit leary considering the exhaust mods and such. I don't favor a used car that has likely been driven hard.Of course that's just me.

I'd be more suspicious if an S didn't have rock chips on the front.

The vin # thing is a bit weird, even if it was replaced the sticker of the vin wouldent be there since some people take it of or dont put it back. Did you check the fenders vin, trunk vin, door vin, hood vin?

And don't worry about the dents and the little stuff, it's a used car nothing is perfect which kept me away from buying the s2k i always wanted for a while and i ended up buying a GPW with a messed up front bumper but i got over it and enjoy it. So think about it and hope you get it and enjoy it. Good luck.
