Is the 2007 S2000 REALLY worth 29 grand?

Fit and finish is excellent.

Reliability is also what makes it worth the price more so than performance IMHO.

I don't mind paying high insurance and 30k for a car that will give me very little mechanical trouble down the line. Nothing worse than a car that won't start on your way to work!

Just think that this car is sold around 43000... EUROS in Belgium (taxes included) !!!
That's around 60.000 US dollars.

But it's worth it !

PS : Even at that price it's my second S2000

yeah the 07 is worth it. you could pick up an ap1, but youd have some other attributes to deal with..

engine too small, cant lug around at low RPM
1st gear too long so youll lose most dig races,
ceramic cylinders so its likely youll be burning tons of oil like most ap1 owners,
rear suspension too stiff, so your likely to spin out and die like the numerous ap1 owners have,
rear diff that cant hang, because of suspension to stiff.

need i go on... just truths. sorry to those who may be offended. yes either way, s2000 is the best car period.

Best performance roadster for the bucks out there. A good clean used s2000 is even a bigger bang. A dealer found me one coming off a lease with just 11,000 miles. Factory warranty but still smelled new and ah those revs.

As one of the surviving AP1 owners, I'd have to say that if the 07 price tag is too high, you should really consider an older model. You can have the same experience for much less than a new car.

That being said, I paid 34,200 in Aug 2000. A lot of money for what is apparently an inferior car.

Nothing better than owning a new car where you know ONLY YOU has driven it, and only you have driven it the way you want it to be driven. Especially when it comes to a car as finicky as a s2k. If you can afford the price a new s2k, IMO its the better choice.
