Default 4 owners in 6 years suspicious or common?

Ran a Carfax on an S2000 I'm considering and its on its 4th owner in 6 years. I'm about to be the 5th owner if I buy it.

Now, I know that sports cars tend to change owners more often, but do S2000's normally go through a lot of owners as well? I know that when I was in the RX7 community, 3rd gen RX7's were usually on their 4th, 5th, or even 6th owner! But then again, that car is older and a lot less reliable....

I'm a bit anxious since this is my first big purchase for a car. Any insight is appreciated.

Unless you are dead set on that particular car...keep shopping. There are alot of clean S2Ks that haven't been through so many owners. Reminds me of a girl I once knew; a lot of owners, no keepers...

Thanks for the reply guys. It turns out its been through a dealership as a certified pre-owned twice so I guess that explains it.

I'm having the car checked out at a shop just in case.

Depends on where you live. If the car has been in a rich area, those guys get a new toy every two years and only drive on the weekend.

Also, softies buy the car to look cool and pick up chicks, but soon realize it is not build for boulevard cruising and sell quickly.

Unless you are getting it as a certified pre-owned, I would walk away from it, not worth the hassle.
