Unless it is a great deal, don't buy it. When a car has changed hands so many times, be prepared for anything that could break down. Good luck!

 

4 or 5 different owners means 4 or 5 people that ran the shit out of it before they sold it...mines a 04 and im the second owner.

 

What model year and how many miles? What part of the country? Generally I'd advise walking away too but I'd hate to see you blow off a cherry S2000 that might serve you well for many years.

 

not sure if it helps but 3rd owner of a 2001, however i bought mine off a friend so he can get a new house.

 

I typically buy a car sort of like buying real estate. Before I buy the car, I think about how marketable it would be if I decide or have to sell it.

If you end up selling it sooner than expected, you'll have to convince people it's worth buying even though you would be the 5th owner. That doesn't sound like a good position to be in. Unless you can easily show that 2 of those 4 owners were the dealers, as you intimated which would make you the 3rd instead of the 5th.

So if you'd be the 3rd owner, that wouldn't be bad. 5th owner, keep searching. Good luck.
