Ok well as the title says im about to get an s2k.. The year is 2000 and its red in colour.. Is there anything i should be looking for?? or was this already looked after? also is it true that if you put the car into reverse and slowly let go of the clutch and if you hear a ticking/knocking kind of sound does it mean that the person has been driving the car hard? or is that all false?

The sound when you put it in reverse is all the mounts flexing while you load up the drivetrain. That's normal. Just make sure the car runs nice. Check in the oil filler cap to make sure it doesn't look black inside the engine. Make sure the car doesn't shake under acceleration. Other than it's appearance there's not to much to worry about with an S

ok well i jus found something out....the 00-01's don't have a redefroster and i was planning on driving the car all year round..So is there a way to get a redefroster?? would i have to add the glass rear window?? and or get a hard top?? would it come with the wires/buttons to or would i have to get that myself?? and which year is better 00-01 or 02-03??

 

you want defrost, get 02-03. Pricing shuld be still close and you cna negotiate.

The defroster can be installed by putting in a glass rear window and buying a few parts from the junkyard. You'd need the defroster switch and a pigtail for it. As well as a service manual and someone familiar with wiring. If you dont want to deal with it tho you should really look into an 02-03. They have quite a few things different besides the glass rear window.
