Been lurking on S2KI.com and S2000.com for years, well before I was in a position to buy just to know what I wanted and have all the ins-and-outs covered when the time came. Started looking back around January, ready to buy, and watched the prices skyrocket as spring and summer came around. Learned about the Fullerton/Stanton dealer rip-offs and got hesitant to look in SoCal due to fear of being scammed. Nearly decided to hold off until winter in hopes of a good deal but then a local posted a Laguna Blue Pearl in my preferred year (06/07) but at a price higher than I could afford. I was also just about to move, which meant I didn't have a garage yet, and also had a vacation planned in which I was about to drop a lot of unexpected money. Well, I got back from vacation, the car was still posted. I moved, went through all that mess, the car was still posted. One life delay after another, and finally I decided to email the guy. I let him know that I had been watching his car for a few weeks and that I was in a position to buy it right away, could we work out a deal. He came down to what I was interested in paying over the email and I went to check the car out. It's a 2006 with 55,000 miles so not much to be wrong with it just yet. Needs some minor touches but quite reasonable for the age. So all in all, after years of waiting I picked up my 2006 Laguna Blue Pearl here in the Bay Area yesterday, and on my birthday! Bought it from a member here too.
