Another New guy with no S yet
So I have been on these forums for quite sometime, just looking around, browsing, and trying to learn as much as I can about the S2000. So I figured that since I am extremely bored and have a 3 hour wait before my next class, I would introduce myself and give you some Cliff's Notes on my life.
My name is Marco, you can probably guess my last name from my username. I was born in Bariloche, Argentina in 1987, making me 21. Its a small town that is really big on tourist attractions, and known around the world for its chocolate. When I was 7, my father got a job at the University of Maryland and he moved to the US. A month or so later, my mother, sister, and I moved to New York and lived there for about a month, until we had our greencards and VISAs sorted out. Then we moved to Maryland with my dad. At the age of 12, my father got another promotion to IUPUI in Indianapolis, so we moved there.
Currently, I am a student at IUPUI and I am studying to get a major in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamic Engineering, and Motorsports Engineering with a minor in Physics. It sounds like alot, but its only a couple of extra classes here and there.
My first car was a beat to hell 1990 Honda Prelude. But I learned to drive a manual, and fell in love with it, and Honda as well. I didnt have much money then, and didnt really like the idea of having things given to me, so I didnt really keep up with maintenance on it, I did the most I could with the small amount of cash i had and the car was happy. With 297K on it, the timing belt decided to give out(imagine that right? I almost had enough saved up to change it too!) Well this is a Honda site, so I dont really need to go into the specifics of what happens inside of a Interference engine when the timing belt snaps. At that point, it was fix the engine, or get a new car. I opted for the second option, sold the Prelude as a rolling shell, and got a 1991 Acura Integra. I still have the Integra, and I have been doing internships and random jobs, on top of my full-time job so that I have the money to keep it in shape. Recently, I just randomly decided that I wanted a S2000. So I started saving up for it during the summer. In three months, I got 6000 saved up for it and I am still working on that.
I plan on saving up until January, then in January I will start searching(I will get to this in a minute) for an S2000. If I have enough cash to pay on the spot, then I will, if not, I will use whatever cash I have as a downpayment, and pay whatever is left in payments. About that searching bit, when I decided that I wanted a S2000, for some reason the only thing that came to mind when I pictured myself in a S2000 was a 2002 or 2003 Grand Prix White S2000. Once again, this being a S2000 site, I dont think I really need to tell any of you how difficult it is to find that year in that color. So if you guys could keep an eye out for me, that would be awesome.
And thats pretty much my life in 5 paragraphs...
