Looking at an 04 with 22k miles. Any problems in particular to look for or be aware of? I read through all the suggestions posted in the forum.
What is a reasonable price these days?
What real world fuel mileage can I expect?
I have always liked the s2000, this seems like it my finally be my chance to own one. This is a good forum!

All the years are excellent...most of the initial issues with the model were fixed in the first 2 years.
04 were the first year of the new tranny...watch for significant issues going into 2nd. The 2nd gear problem requires a tranny rebuild and many Honda dealers can't rebuild a tranny for crap.
MPG depends on how you drive it. But if you keep it out of VTEC, around town you can see 22-24mpg and highway 28-30mpg.

Thanks for the trans info. Is it a syncronizer problem? I have driven this one twice and did not have any shifting problems, but the trans does seem noisy. I assumed it was just the nature of it.
I have rebuilt several transmissions before, including a Mitsubishi and a 6 speed in a late model Camaro. Is the s2000 trans repair beyond what the regular gear-head can handle?
One other question- I see two bolt or screw holes on the inner lip of each front fender- is something missing? Or did the previous owner have some after market parts on it that are gone now?
thanks for your reply, I appreciate the information. Any ballpark idea what the car might be worth?
