Default Is there a common '04 tranny problem?

I've read a couple 04 tranny problems (only a couple) here, like popping out of gear or not going into gear. Is this a common problem with 04's? or just a few isolated cases?
Who's having a problem? Who's not? how many miles???
Thanks

I'm at 13.5k and like the tranny for the most part. with Warpinoy, the second gear crunch when cold is disappointing (even if it's a common issue with all year models) but I can generally avoid it, or at least minimize it by simply being careful until everything warms up. We shouldn't be pushing the car that hard when it's cold anyway but it does seem like this is something Honda could have taken car of. For me, it's not been a big deal in the grand scheme of things but others have had significant issues with it. I think it depends on the individual car you wind up with and, maybe to some extent, on the individuals driving habits. That last part IS NOT meant as an attack on anyone!

On the "popping out of gear" issue. It's been a hot one lately. I've had it happen 3 or 4 times in the mileage I've got on the car. I'm also convinced it was sloppy technique on my part that precipitated the event in each case. I'm made that statement in a number of other conversations and I think some of the folks don't believe me but there's nothing I can do about that. There have been a couple of conversations where I'm convinced that some individuals have a real problem with this but I don't get the impression that it's a major issue over all.

I've only felt the delay valve in the clutch slave cylinder a couple of times. I don't usually push the car hard enough to feel it for the most part but it is something I'll probably get rid of eventually.

FWIW!

Steve R.

The best mod for my04+ is to remove the clutch delay. I did it last week and it now has sharp, crisp shifts.
Here's the link on how to do it. It took me me 1 1/2 hours because bleeding the clutch took forever.
