Anyone getting stupidly good prices?
I paid 16k for an 05 silverstone, 38k miles, flawless condition. Car was a California lease return and the dealer I bought from was at auction one of the days the stock market took a dump, he had little competition.

El Puncho, noticed the same thing on my AP1... I thought it was because i bought it used...
I'm just starting to shop. I'm thinking prices should bottom out in January. Drove a blue 08 CR with 77 miles on it the other day-GREAT car. Dealer offered it to me for about $32K (with AC & radio). That's over $6K under sticker. Tempting....but when I can get a clean used AP2 for half that I just can't justify the difference.

is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the rear bumper and front bumper dont align too well with other body parts. I know im just being a bit picky but ive noticed that the top edge of the rear bumper where the tail lights meet, the bumper corner flares out a bit and the headlights have a gap between the bumper and light assembly. I noticed this on a 05 when i was checking it out and made wonder if it had been in a collision or not. Reason why i post here is because it was a mom and pop shop selling the car for 19999 05 with about 30-40k mi W/ HARDTOP. Any one else noticed this on theirs? Or am i too paranoid *ozzy plays in background*...
MY07 I believe was the last year of production... So I don't think the prices are going to drop a whole lot until the replacement comes out in 2010-2011. Prices on the MY04+ might drop more, but if you are looking at the basest of the base (MY00/01), the prices are already REALLY low for the performance.
You can now get a decent MY00 for $11-12k used (60-80k). You still cannot find a good-condition 3rd Gen 13b RX-7 (1990-1994) for that price, or even the Supra MkIV Turbo (again... 7-10 years older than our oldest car)...
In the current economy, though, cash is KING. A dealer might do anything to meet monthly payroll. Just make sure you have cash in hand. That is your ONLY leverage in this market (no need for credit).
Just my $.02.
