Yea...um...I don't think so. AP1 horsepower ratings are not SAE. And plus, I was talking more in terms of WHP. so AP2 has more horses. Also, I mentioned 4banger...so why r u bringing up veyron. JDM AP1 I give credit for, but then they have different emission restrictions so they should have a lot more Horses.

Bottom line is: AP2 engine has the higheset output for a 4 banger.

The 9k redline, 800 rpms higher than the AP2, is pretty much nothing but a bragging right, as a well-driven AP2 will beat an AP1 any day of the week. Its usually a driver's race though, but a good driver will drive an AP2 faster than an AP1.

The AP2 doesn't just have more horsepower (Honda doesn't publish this but dynos show it) and torque, it also has more aggresive gearing and a better gearbox.

That said, being able to rev to 9k is awesome, and 10k would be even better, but you shouldn't buy a car just because it has a cool redline number.

And you really think there are people out there who buy the car solely for the redline number? Come on man.

According to some of the responses by AP1 owners on this site, sadly, yes.
